The US House Wednesday passed a measure to restore “net neutrality.” The Obama-era rules curbed by FCC chair Ajit Pai.
The “Save the Internet Act” was approved by a mostly party-line vote – 232-190. One Republican broke ranks and joined Democrats in approving the bill.
The legislation, however, is “dead on arrival” in the Senate, according to GOP Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
Net Neutrality prevented service providers from throttling internet speeds and/or providing fast lanes for purchase.
