A suspect has been arrested in connection to three fires at Black churches in St. Landry Parish, Lousiana.
Deputy Roy Matthews turned in his son Holden Matthews on Wednesday evening.
Holden was charged with three counts of simple arson of a religious building. Each count carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in jail. Police have yet to reveal a motive for the crimes.
The churches were empty at the time of the fires. Earlier this week, the NAACP called the fires “domestic terrorism.”
