(BOLINGBROOK, Ill.) — A state board could decide Tuesday on the fate of Westlake Hospital in Melrose Park.
The State of Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board could vote on Pipeline Health’s plan to close the facility or they could hold off on a vote for now.
A lawsuit filed by Melrose Park alleging that Pipeline acquired the hospital under false pretence could trigger the board to table a vote until a judgement is issued.
The 230 bed facility remains open under a temporary restraining order.
Pipeline acquired the hospital January 29 and announced February 15 that it was moving to shutter the facility.
