A Michigan man reportedly paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for the right to hunt and kill an endangered African rhino.
Last year, businessman Chris Peyerk reportedly paid $400,000 to the Namibia government for permission to kill a 29-year-old male black rhino. Black rhinos are considered a critically endangered species with only about 5,500 left in the wild.
But Namibian officials say the beast was causing trouble with younger rhinos and was hurting the local rhino population.
Now Peyerk is seeking permission from U.S. authorities to bring back the skin, skull, and horns as a trophy.
