(WASHINGTON) — The Supreme Court has struck down affirmative action in college admissions.
In a 6-3 decision, the court overturned admissions plans at Harvard and the University of North Carolina.
In the Court’s decision, Chief Justice John Roberts wrote that the two programs violate the Constitution’s equal protection clause.
Justice Sonia Sotomayor wrote in dissent that the decision “rolls back decades of precedent and momentous progress.”
