Governor JB Pritzker leaves Thursday for a week-long trip to the UK, reportedly to sell Illinois as a business destination. Electric vehicle manufacturing in the state may be a major point of focus as well.
Pritzker will start his visit with a three-day stop at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where he’ll meet with industry leaders in automobile, energy, and supply chain.
Sunday through Wednesday, Pritzker and the First Lady will be joined by a delegation of 40 state officials and business and higher education leaders. Illinois House Speaker Emanuel “Chris” Welch is expected to be in attendance.
