A new report from Crain’s Chicago Business says that the Chicago White Sox are considering a move out of Guaranteed Rate Field when their current lease ends.
The team could be looking at a new Chicago location, or may consider leaving the city entirely. Nashville has long been rumored as a possible destination.
The report also says that the White Sox owner, 87 year-old Jerry Reinsdorf, may consider selling the team, while keeping ownership of the Chicago Bulls.
The White Sox issued a statement on Monday evening, saying, “We have not had any conversations about our lease situation, but with six years remaining, it is naturally nearing a time where discussions should begin to take place.
