The push is on to register teenage voters in Illinois

A student registration drive taking place at Leo catholic High School in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood . Those who are the age of 18 can register to vote immediately if they have an Illinois drivers license or state ID. Students who are seventeen but will be eighteen before November 5th are eligible to vote in the upcoming election. Students eligible to vote can register on line at the Illinois board of elections website. Those sixteen and seventeen can pre register to vote online or at the DMV . Their registration will go into effect when they reach voting age. Since June over 34 thousand new voters have registered, most are young women
