(CHICAGO) — ICE agents were seen in downtown Chicago over the weekend taking several people into custody. Agents worked both on foot and by boat, patrolling the Chicago River.
A post on social media from the Department of Homeland Security said in part, “DHS under @Sec_Noem, will NOT back down. We will not rest until every violent terrorist, thug is arrested… @POTUS Trump and @Sec_Noem will return LAW AND ORDER to our streets.”
Protestors were out again over the weekend, denouncing ICE actions.
Governor JB Pritzker’s office has said the governor will hold a press conference Monday afternoon to address ICE actions. Pritzker, no fan of President Donald Trump, has condemned ICE actions in Chicago and Illinois.
