(CHICAGO) — The illegal immigrant accused of murdering Loyola University student Sheridan Gorman is expected in court for a status hearing this morning in Chicago.
Jose Medina, 26, a Venezuelan national who was released into the U.S. under the Biden admin, also had an outstanding warrant in a Chicago shoplifting case when he was arrested following Gorman’s death near Loyola’s campus in March.
Gorman’s parents, who have blamed failed border policies and sanctuary city laws as contributors behind their daughter’s death, are not expected in court today but are continuing to speak out. This weekend they told Fox’s Trey Gowdy, “we will fight so that no other parent has to deal with this. This is just another talking point for a lot of our government officials and even community members – but this is our life.”
