Cooper Health, a so-called “non-profit” hospital system in Texas, has just been exposed for alleged massive financial fraud, political kickbacks, human rights abuses, and discrimination — all while raking in millions in taxpayer dollars.
Even worse, its malfeasance is seeping into our communities through its partnerships with institutions like MD Anderson Cancer Center, putting the integrity of our healthcare system at risk.
Cooper Health is a textbook example of how the left weaponizes institutions for power and profit while abandoning the people they claim to serve.
Led by the now-indicted George Norcross, Cooper allegedly built an empire of deceit — hoarding state subsidies, rigging the system to receive 10 times more funding than other hospitals, and funneling money into no-bid contracts that benefit Norcross and his allies.
This is the same Norcross who reportedly manipulated the New Jersey government into handing out hundreds of millions in tax credits to companies tied to his political machine.
His control over state officials purportedly ensured that the pockets of his cronies were lined while communities in need of real healthcare were left in the dust.
Texas cannot allow this level of corruption to infect our state.
We value accountability, transparency, and integrity — things that are utterly absent at Cooper Health. Texas is the economic engine of America because we reject the big-government schemes that enable bureaucrats and political elites to hijack public funds for personal gain.
Yet, through its partnerships with institutions like MD Anderson Cancer Center, it may be well-argued that Cooper Health is extending its influence beyond New Jersey, threatening to drag Texas into the same swamp of corruption that has crippled New Jersey’s economy and public trust.
The situation is even worse when you consider how Cooper Health has actively harmed vulnerable communities — while pretending to be a charitable institution.
The hospital was caught discriminating against female and minority employees, paying them less than their white male counterparts, despite virtue-signaling about “diversity” and “equity.”
The Department of Labor found that 337 women and minority employees were underpaid, while 64 female, Black, and Hispanic job applicants were discriminated against.
This is the reality of left-wing institutions — they virtue-signal about social justice while running systems of inequality behind closed doors.
If this is happening in New Jersey, why should Texans believe Cooper’s practices will be any different here?
Texans must demand action. MD Anderson and any other Texas-based institution with ties to Cooper Health must immediately sever those relationships.
State and federal authorities should launch an investigation into whether Cooper Health’s corruption has extended beyond New Jersey, particularly in how taxpayer money is being used.
We must hold accountable those who use public funds to enrich themselves while failing the people they are supposed to serve.
The scandal at Cooper Health is not just about one hospital — it’s about the creeping influence of far-left corruption that prioritizes political elites over average Americans.
Texans must send a clear message: we will not allow our state to become the next New Jersey. We must protect our institutions, demand transparency, and ensure that taxpayer dollars are spent on serving the people — not funding fraud, kickbacks, and woke virtue-signaling from corrupt elites.
Cooper Health is a warning sign. Texas must not ignore it.
