Allen J. Lynch Medal of Honor Veterans Foundation
The Foundation is set up to provide stop-gap funding so that the veteran is capable of continuing the recovery or education process. Individuals will receive a gift, not a loan, that is intended to be a one-time event. A majority of the Board of Directors for the Foundation must approve each request for assistance after the veteran has been vetted, usually by another veterans' service organization. We envision that through raising funds from donors wanting to help our veterans we can then share that generosity with those we encounter or are referred to us by a veterans' servicing organization. The request for support is evaluated by the board of directors and a majority must agree with the approach chosen or the plan must be re-worked until approval is received. The Lynch Foundation does not disperse cash. We will pay rent, a motel bill, medical expenses, food, educational expenses not covered by others, even travel costs - but only to the service provider.
Rags of Honor
Rags of Honor is the only custom silk screen and apparel company devoted to hiring homeless and chronically unemployed veterans. Our mission is to be as committed to them as they were to us when they wore the uniform. Rags of Honor also has its own line of branded apparel available at the online store
Illinois Patriots Education Fund
IPFE provides financial assistance (scholarships) and support the educational journey for Illinois military service men and women who have given their lives or become disabled in service to our country and their families. We also support the education of active duty members, veterans, their spouses, and children over and above the benefits provided by the Post-911 GI Bill. We have provided 76 scholarships totaling over $300,000 since our inception changing the lives of Illinois military families and reducing the heavy burden of student loan debt.
Operation Support Our Troops
The mission of OSOT America is to provide comfort and care to our military community both while they deploy and upon completion of their service. The mission is achieved through programs such as the Care and Comfort Package program that to date has shipped over two million pounds of comfort items to deployed troops; Leap of Faith Program, a three day seminar to support families of fallen service members; The Allen J. Lynch Program to provide immediate financial assistance to veterans in crisis, and GI Yoga, a program that teaches Yoga Instructors a method of Yoga for veterans with PTSD. OSOT America has a 4 star Charity Navigator rating and a 90% program allotment.
Bugles Across America
Bugles Across America (BAA) was founded in 2000 as a result of P.L. 106-65 that states that every qualified veteran has a right to Military Funeral Honors. As a minimum, this calls for two people to fold and present the flag and to provide a sounding of Taps. A shortage of available military buglers was then addressed by allowing this sounding of Taps to be done by way of a recording. With this in mind, Bugles Across America was formed to provide live buglers to fill this need. BAA is a registered 501c3, not for profit organization, and files annual tax returns with the IRS and the State of Illinois. We have acquired both a Trademark and Copyright for our name and logo. We operate and pay for our web site, however, the bugler service is provided free of charge to all that request it. BAA is a totally volunteer program and receives NO government financial help. Bugles Across America non for profit does not charge members to join nor does it collect dues. Our membership consists of men and women of all ages, races, and creeds. They are active military, veterans and civilians alike. Many are professional musicians, while others are capable but purely amateur. Regardless of background or previous experience, we require all volunteers to audition by sounding Taps for a Director before being placed on the active bugler list to assure that every veteran's family will receive a dignified sounding of Taps. Our members supply their own instruments and are responsible for appearing in a timely manner for each event in appropriate attire. We have established and published the Directives for Buglers, which all members are expected to follow. All members are responsible for their transportation to and from events, and must have their own insurance coverage.
