Ukraine authorities accused Russia of attempting to undermine it new army chief, Oleksandr Syrskyi, with a series of media portrayals about his past in Russia as a Soviet officer, Bloomberg reported.
Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council said the coverage of Syrskyi is meant to sow division within the military and discredit him by playing up his Soviet past and his relatives in Russia.
Ukrainian officials said people should not fall for Russian propaganda, as Moscow is threated by the success of Syrskyi’s operations, including the liberation of the Kyiv and Kharkiv regions, according to BBN.
