(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) Donald Trump says if he defeats Ted Cruz in Indiana, he’ll seal the Republican presidential nomination.
“Yes, it’s over,” Trump said on “Fox News Sunday” when host Chris Wallace asked if a win in the Hoosier State Tuesday would end Cruz’s chances.
Trump is the front-runner in Indiana, according to a new NBC/Wall Street Journal/Marist poll that shows him leading with 49% compared to 34% for Cruz and 13% for Ohio Gov. John Kasich. Tuesday’s primary has 57 delegates on the line.
Trump pointed to Indiana Gov. Mike Pence’s endorsement of Cruz, noting that it only came after Pence lavished praise on Trump in an Indianapolis radio show appearance.
He said that Pence “gave me more of an endorsement than he gave Cruz,” and said Pence’s decision to back Cruz was influenced by “his donors and special interests.”
“Most people think it was more of an endorsement of me than it was for Cruz. And it was the weakest endorsement anyone has seen in a long time,” Trump said of Pence’s endorsement of Cruz.
Trump also dismissed poll numbers that show him struggling with female voters, predicting that Clinton would crater once he’s able to focus all of his attention on her.
He said he’ll use Bernie Sanders’ primary attacks that Clinton is “not qualified” for the presidency due to her close ties to Wall Street and stances on issues like trade against Clinton in the general election.
“I’m going to use that. We’ll have that teed up,” Trump said.
He added: “What he said was incredible. It’s a soundbite.”
Also on “Fox News Sunday,” Cruz took a shot at Trump, highlighting the endorsement the mogul got from Mike Tyson — the boxer who spent three years in prison in Indiana after a rape conviction.
“Donald said Mike Tyson is a ‘tough guy.’ Well I don’t think rapists are tough guys,” Cruz said.

Big John Howell Show Notes 4-6-16

Republican Ted Cruz’s decisive victory over Donald Trump in Wisconsin gave him momentum at a crucial time and put pressure on the front-running Trump to show he can absorb the shock and bounce back in upcoming primary states. On the Democratic side, U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont easily defeated front-runner Hillary Clinton in Wisconsin, adding to Clinton’s frustration that she has not been able to swiftly knock out a rival who has attacked her from the left and march to the presidential nomination. The crew of a U.S. Navy ship stopped a massive Iranian arms shipment dead in its tracks, seizing thousands of weapons that likely were headed to Yemen. President Obama says Iran was obeying the “letter” of its landmark nuclear agreement with the West, but not the “spirit” of it. Meanwhile, according to officials, North Korea has the capability to mount a nuclear warhead on a medium-range missile that could strike targets in Russia, China, Japan and the Korean Peninsula. CPS accidentally told 500 parents their kid had been accepted into magnet school. There were only 16 slots open, and they went out acceptance letters to 512 families. They’ve since reached out to families to apologize and offer “alternative options.” How would you react if that happened to your little snowflake?

A couple of President Obama’s final exams from his time as a Constitutional Law professor has hit the Internet. He was pretty whimsical with some of his fictional situations for the questions. We’ve posted a few questions on our Reddit page.

Researchers at Stanford University found that humans were “emotionally aroused” when asked to touch a humanoid robot in its “inaccessible” regions. Ten human volunteers responded to commands from an Aldebaran Robotics Nao robot, such as “please touch my buttocks.” A sensor worn on the hand of the participants measured skin conductance, revealing that physiological and emotional arousal took place when such tasks were performed.

Donald Trump’s star almost never shines bright on the Walk of Fame. People keep vandalizing the star he received in 2007 for his work on The Apprentice. The Los Angeles Times reports that his red tile outside of the Hollywood and Highland Center is routinely defaced with spray paint, graffiti and even dog poop.

Donald Trump calls for GOP unity

By David Wright, CNN

Donald Trump urged Republicans to unite behind his candidacy Wednesday, following a trio of victories on Tuesday night in Mississippi, Michigan and Hawaii.

“If we could embrace this moment as a party, we’re going to win so easily,” the billionaire businessman told CNN’s Chris Cuomo on “New Day.”

Trump said the record-breaking turnout his march to the Republican presidential nomination had produced is “absolutely unique and special.”

“Something is happening that’s amazing,” he said. “We’re getting millions and millions of people that have never voted before, millions of people from the Democrats, millions of people from the independents.”

Trump also pointed to the “great talk” he had with House Speaker Paul Ryan as an example of the type of bridge-building the Republican Party should be doing.

“(Ryan) called the other day, he was so great. That’s what we should be doing. We should be talking and unifying,” Trump said. “I like him a lot, I respect him a lot, and I think he respects me, I think he really does respect what I’ve done. I mean, he said it, it’s amazing. He said it’s amazing. Look, they’re talking about it all over the world.”

And the GOP front-runner argued that his candidacy alone provided the opportunity to expand the party and win in the general election, singling out his primary rival Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.

“We’re going to win areas and states that were never in play before, and would never be in play for any of these other candidates — I mean, Ted Cruz cannot win these states,” Trump said.
