Bill Cameron sits down with the Former Director of Cease Fire, Tio Hardiman. They discuss violence in Chicago, and Illinois, as well as the organization Cease Fire, and what it does. Tio shares success stories as well as talks in depth about police shootings, and other shooting crimes in Chicago. Tio talks about running for Governor, as well as discussing certain topics regarding Rahm Emanuel, and Lisa Madigan.

In this week’s round table discussion, Bill Cameron is joined by Ray Long of the Chicago Tribune, Natasha Korecki of Politico, and Lynn Sweet of the Chicago Sun Times. Topics include the current situation with DACA and the “Dreamers.” They also discuss the race for Governor, including specifically Chris Kennedy. They discuss possible “pay for play” politics in Chicago, as well as a new Amazon headquarters possibly coming to Chicago.

In This week’s Community Spotlight Jennifer Keiper discusses the Maven commissioned survey on the topic of Millennial (ages 18-35) summer spending. The data shows Millenials spent an average of $1300 socializing and attended 37 events this summer. They spent more to travel and more than 1 in three wished they had access to an SUV/crossover. They also said they were much more likely to attend social events in the summer compared with the winter.
