(Chicago) A west suburban man, who is accused of trying to join a terror group, will reportedly plead guilty.

Hear Jennifer Keiper’s story:

Abdella Ahmed Tounisi was 18-years-old when arrested at O’Hare Airport in April 2013 while trying to board a flight to Turkey. Feds say he was trying to hook up with a terror group in Syria that has ties to Al Qaida.

Now his lawyer says the teenager will change his not guilty plea to guilty at a June 30 hearing.

Officials say Tounisi was a close friend of Adel Daoud, another west suburban man who is set to stand trial this summer for plotting to blow up a downtown Chicago bar in September 2012.

Authorities say Tounisi started to help Daoud plan that attack but backed out when he became suspicious of the person Daoud was working with. It turns out it was an undercover federal agent.
