Ramps in Schaumburg to close as Route 390 project continues

(SCHAUMBURG) More ramp closures are scheduled to start Monday for drivers on Route 390 in the northwest suburbs.

Ramps that connect Route 390 to Gary Avenue and Springingsguth Road in Schaumburg will be closed as part of the Illinois Tollway’s Illinois Route 390 project.

The construction is scheduled to continue through the fall of 2015, according to a statement from Move Illinois.

Starting Monday, ramps connecting Route 390 to and from Gary Avenue will be closed for bridge and pavement repairs to create a smoother traveling surface.

In addition, the week of July 27 marks the start of ramp closures for pavement and striping improvements on ramps to and from Springingsguth Road.

Detour signs will be posted directing westbound Route 390 and Gary Avenue traffic to Lake Street, and Route 390 and Springingsguth Road traffic to Irving Park Road, Barrington Road, and Lake Street.

The entire Route 390 project, designed to repair and upgrade roads between Lake Street and Irving Park Road, is scheduled for completion by the end of the year.
