(CHICAGO) An off-duty Chicago Police officer died Monday after a motorcycle crash in the Washington Heights neighborhood on the South Side.
About 4 p.m., Jonathon Ho was driving a motorcycle that collided with another vehicle near the intersection of 95th Street and Vincennes Avenue, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
The 35-year-old officer, assigned to the 6th District, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 5:57 p.m., authorities said. The medical examiner’s office listed his home address in the 3500 block of South Michigan.
The 62-year-old man driving the other vehicle in the crash was cited for failure to yield, driving on a suspended license and driving without proof of insurance, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
