2016 VOTE: Kirk fires back

By Bill Cameron, WLS-AM News

(CHICAGO) In the campaign for senate, Bill Cameron says Sen Mark Kirk is firing back at challenger Tammy Duckworth for calling him “unhinged.”

Kirk will not apologize and at a downstate news conference he tossed the unhinged label back at Duckworth.

“My opponent called me unhinged for referring to drug dealer practice. But I would say it’s unhinged to send $440 million in cash to terrorists.”

Here’s what Duckworth said about Senator Kirk on Tuesday: “He lacks the ability to control what he is saying. And you can look at the numerous gaffes that he’s had over the years.”

And here’s Kirk’s answer to that: “That is a sad part. She is so desparate to run for office, she would denigrate any stroke victim in America and make fun of them. And that’s awful. You shouldn’t do that.  For people who have strokes, they can make a tremendous comeback mentally and physically.”

Duckworth says she doesn’t want to denigrate anything but Kirk’s record in the Senate.
