CPD Officer Held Her Fire, Worried Her Family Would Suffer

At a City Hall a ceremony for police and fire dept heroes on Thursday, Bill Cameron says Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson revealed the remarkable case of an officer who did not fire her weapon last night for fear of the scrutiny she expected her family would suffer.

Supt. Johnson said the officer witnessed a car crash into a building Wednesday night at Roosevelt and Cicero and stopped to help.

The injured officer is in serious but stable condition. The suspect has three prior gun arrests.
