Emanuel calls Rauner “Governor Roadblock”

By Bill Cameron, WLS-AM News

(CHICAGO) Illinois may have a budget, but Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Governor Bruce Rauner are still fighting.

The Governor is expected to veto a bill on how state school aid is distributed. So the Emanuel is calling Rauner “Governor Roadblock.”

“Democrats and Republicans worked on it,” says Emanuel, “it meets 90% of your target. And you’re gonna veto it? That means you’re not serious about governing and leading the state forward.”

In any case, Emanuel is again vowing to open Chicago schools on time, but again not saying where the money would come from to do that.
