At 83, Jesse White is running for a sixth term as Illinois Secretary of State

By Bill Cameron

(CHICAGO) It’s Democrats Day at the State Fair in Springfield and Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White got a standing ovation from party leaders at their annual party brunch when he said, “I’m your man and I will be at my duty station every day.”

Part of that duty is campaigning against the re-election of Republican Gov Bruce Rauner. Here’s how Jesse White assesses Bruce Rauner, “Tough man to figure out. I always say he’s like when we were kids. If things don’t go our way, we take our bat and ball and go home.”

The Republican party immediately reacted to White’s decision, calling him a career politician who is breaking his promise not to run for re-election a second time.
