Rauner predicts Madigan is ‘going somewhere, into retirement”

(CHICAGO)  Monday, Governor Rauner said he’s not in charge but Speaker Mike Madigan is, and today Rauner’s oddly controversial on two more topics.

The Governor now predicts Mike Madigan is going to go away, saying “I believe he will be going somewhere, into retirement. And that’s what we’re working on.”

And if Madigan won’t retire, pressure legislative candidates, “Have candidates promise or pledge not to make him speaker again.”

Rauner’s also on the attack against the Democrat he thinks Madigan has rigged the system to nominate, billionaire JB Pritzker.

He argues Pritzker’s really a bad investor, “You have to be one of the worst investors on the planet to only generate $16M of income on $3B in assets. How do you do that? By hiding from taxes, tax avoidance. That’s how you do that.”

In response, the Pritzker campaign says, ““We’re not going to get in the way of the Bruce Rauner implosion tour.”
