(CHICAGO) Patti Blagojevich, the wife of imprisoned ex-Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, is issuing a new appeal to President Trump to free her husband from prison.    Patti Blagojevich gave a new interview to the Chicago Sun Times in which she attacked two of Trump’s favorite targets,  Robert Mueller and James Comey.   Both men are former FBI directors.   Comey was fired by Trump and has just written a book that his highly critical of the President.   Mueller is currently leading the special counsel investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

In her Sun Times interview Patti Blagojevich said, “This same cast of characters that did this to my family are out there trying to do it to the President.”   In an appearance on Bruce DuMont’s nationally syndicated “Beyond the Beltway” radio show, she pointed out, “Mueller was the FBI director when my husband was arrested and this whole thing started.”

Patrick Fitzgerald was the U.S. Attorney whose office prosecuted Rod Blagojevich, and the man who said the ex-Governor’s conduct would make “Lincoln roll over his his grave.”   Fitzgerald and Comey are longtime friends and Comey recently announced he had hired Fitzgerald as his attorney.

On April 16th the U.S. Supreme Court announced it would not hear the former governor’s appeal of his corruption conviction.

That means that the only option for Blagojevich to get out of prison ahead of his scheduled 2024 release date, is if Trump either pardons him or commutes his sentence.   Shortly after the Supreme Court’s ruling, Patti Blagojevich appealed to Trump by appearing on “The Fox News Channel”, the President’s favorite cable news network.    Trump expressed admiration for Blagojevich when the ex-Governor appeared on “Celebrity Apprentice” on NBC in 2010.
