(CHICAGO) Chicago Mayoral candidate Paul Vallas has unveiled his public safety plan.

More cops including more detectives with more supervisors, all better trained are what Vallas promises.

He says it would mean less of counterproductive overtime, “The bottom line is if you have enough police assets and if you have enough police resources, you’re not going to be spending money on overtime. What you get on overtime is tired police officers.”

Vallas is promising monthly meetings with the police unions to help erase what he says is a demoralized rank and file.
