(CHICAGO) Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle is out with her budget projection for next year and, so far, the news is good.

No new county taxes or fees are planned for 2019.

There is an $82M gap to close and Preckwinkle says she will with cuts and consolidations, “We have our work cut out for us.  A difficult and challenging budget and fortunately we have a great team to meet this challenge.”

Some will say that helping to prevent Preckwinkle from seeking another tax increase is the political reality that for her, this is an election year.
