(CHICAGO)   A new “Keep Families Together” campaign against separating border families features testimony in city councils, county boards and other legislative bodies around the country.  The City Council Human Relations Committee hosted a hearing on it today at City Hall.

Witnesses testified that ICE is “kidnapping” harmless parents thereby separating them from thousands of children.

Outspoken activist Emma Lozano was there, noting “To me this is a form of terrorism and it’s a form of trauma to the children no different from the trauma when you pull a child who is suckling a mother’s breast. That separation is equally as traumatic.”

Pastor Lozano says one mother ICE wants to deport – Francisca Lino – currently has sanctuary at her church, Adalberto United Methodist Church.

The other side says the politicians who support the undocumented are for “open borders.”
