(CHICAGO)  It was Governor’s Day at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield, and Governor Bruce Rauner was there..

Rauner rode onto the fairgrounds on his Harley for a pep rally urging everyone to cut taxes and put in term limits.

“Cut taxes, put in term limits! Yea!”

He said billionaire challenger JB Pritzker will outspend him but he said you can only put so much lipstick on barrow hog, which is a castrated hog.

But Rauner’s got problems within his own ranks. Social conservatives think he’s been too moderate on abortion, immigration, and gay rights – and not friendly enough with Trump.

And a couple of other third party candidates may deduct from his support.

If the Republicans under Rauner fail, then Speaker Madigan will get to draw the next legislative map after the 2020 census thereby keeping control of Springfield for years to come.
