Chicagoan retires after 26 years of Naval service

(SAN ANTONIO) — Senior Chief Navy Counselor Ginger Stevenson of Chicago, assigned to Navy Recruiting District San Antonio, was piped ashore by her fellow chief petty officers at the conclusion of her retirement ceremony.

Stevenson, who served as an assistant chief recruiter from December 2016 to September 2018, retired with more than 26 years of faithful and honorable service.

For her service, Stevenson received the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.

Stevenson, a 1992 graduate of Tilden Technical High School on Chicago’s South Side and 2015 graduate of Trident University, joined the Navy in 1992 and became a Navy recruiter in 1999.
