Facebook wants to make sure that ‘fake news’ about voting in the midterms doesn’t spread on their platform.

The company says it will ban any false information about voting requirements, such as claims that people can vote by text message, that polling places have been closed or moved, or anything else “designed to deter or prevent people from voting”.

There’s also a new reporting function for users who spot false info.

Recently, Facebook said it found a “coordinated” campaign of false voting info suspected to be from Russia.
