In a town of destruction, this home still stands. Why?

Hurricane Michael did some of its worst damage to Mexico Beach, Florida. Some of the most stirring images from the aftermath of the storm have come from that seaside community.

One home withstood the 155 mph winds that came with Michael. Images show that one home still stands while the rest were decimated by the storm. How did this home survive with almost no damage?

The home was built last year by Dr. Lebron Lackey and his uncle. Lackey told ABC News “Hurricanes happen and so we intended to build it to survive.”

Lackey added that the home was built to withstand 250 mph winds! Extra concrete was added to the corners of the home and steel cables were put in to hold the roof in place.
