80,000 Americans Died From the Flu Last Year

Flu season is here. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention want to remind you that 80,000 people died from influenza last year.

Last year was the deadliest flu season since 1976. To put that in proper context, mild flu seasons tend to kill about 12,000 Americans, and more severe flu seasons kill up to 56,000.

Elderly and children are the two groups most susceptible to the flu with the potential to kill.
