A Georgia man who escaped from jail with some help from his mother was caught because they stopped to eat at IHOP.

27-year-old Joshua Gullatt and his mom, 54-year-old Kathy Lynn Pence, plotted a scheme over the phone to get Joshua out of jail.

Gullatt snuck out through a side door at the Heard County jail. Investigators listened to the phone call Gullatt made to Pence plotting the escape.

It just so happens that Pence was pulled over for running a stop sign as she was on the phone with her son. Authorities were able to identify her car. Investigators put it all together and tracked Pence’s car to a local IHOP. Gullatt and Pence there with Joshua’s children. The mother and son were arrested.
