The 2018 midterms were a great election for women – as long as you were a Democrat.

The 116th Congress will include 105 Democratic women but only 19 Republican women – ten fewer than just two years ago. And this ear’s freshman crop includes just a single Republican woman – Carol Miller of West Virginia

Those trends continue at the state level, where 61 percent of female lawmakers are Democrats compared to 38 percent Republican.
