Pritzker: “Illinois’ best days are ahead.”

(CHICAGO)  The State of Illinois is 200 years old today and Bill Cameron has Governor-Elect JB Pritzker’s candid assessment of the state of Illinois on its 200th birthday.

The State of Illinois is practically insolvent here on its 200th birthday and so the man elected to lead it in the next four years has this bi-centennial description of the state.

“Illinois’ best days are ahead. So much has been accomplished over the years. But we’re a great state with great opportunity and I think we’ll have an opportunity here at the bi-centennial and in the month of January during the inaugural to highlight the fact that we have new leadership for a new century and that we have great days ahead.”

Pritzker also told us that within six months, he plans to raise the state’s minimum wage to $15 an hour.
