America’s Best And Worst Cities For Public Transit

If you don’t have access to a car, chances are you need to rely on public transit to get around.

While some parts of the US have great subway and bus networks, if you live in these cities, you might want to invest in a bike.

According to Trains, Buses, People: An Opinionated Atlas of U.S. Transit, those living in New York City, Boston, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, D.C. are lucky, as those cities are home to the best transit systems.

However, those in Nashville, Cleveland, and Dallas aren’t so fortunate, with options that aren’t really that effective in moving people from one location to another.

Author Christof Spieler notes, New York City is the one outlier, with a vast system that somehow underserves parts of the suburbs and has spent $18.9 billion to build three subway and one commuter rail stations in the last decade.

Do you use it? Why or why not?
