(CHICAGO)   At City Hall, a very large gasoline tax hike is being proposed by Mayor Emanuel and the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus.

Rahm stood with several suburban mayors and proposed increasing the state gas tax 20-30 cents!

He argued the state is in dire need for a state construction bill for transportation.

“If you took the low range of 20-30 cents that we’re talking about, the 20 cents would reflect just inflation if you had indexed it back to 1990. Cost have gone up, usage has gone up and the resources to invest have stayed stagnant. That’s unsustainable.”

This could actually happen because next month Democrats take full control in Springfield.
