Fioretti: A commuter tax would be fair

(CHICAGO) In the race for mayor, another candidate – Bob Fioretti – is suggesting a commuter tax be considered to bail out city pensions.

Fioretti is the former alderman who’s been running and losing races since he was gerrymandered out of his ward.

Now as a candidate for mayor he’s arguing a commuter tax on those who work in the city but live outside the city would be fair.

“A commuter tax is fair because people who come into the city they want good services and infrastructure. We know who everybody is who lives in Indiana, Wisconsin and the northern suburbs who come into the city.”

Also suggesting that a commuter tax at least be considered is candidate Bill Daley.
