(SPRINGFIELD, IL)  Democrat J B Pritzker is now governor of Illinois. He took the oath at noon today in front of a big crowd in the Springfield convention center.

Lots of platitudes in Pritzker’s inaugural address, but also some specific promises. Reforming taxes and balancing the budget.

“But be clear about this. I won’t balance the budget on the backs of the starving, the sick and the suffering. (cheering audience).”

Also on he Pritzker agenda, legalizing marijuana and a $15 minimum wage as well as a big new state construction program and immediately joining the U. S. Climate Alliance. bc​
