(CHICAGO)   In the race for mayor, Gery Chico is dumping on his former boss, the now charged Ald Ed Burke.

Chico used to work for Burke, but repudiated him during an appearance at the Tribune Editorial Board. It happened when Toni Preckwinkle was dumping on Burke too.

Preckwinkle: “He’s not an ally of mine.”

Chico: “Who’s been endorsed by Ed Burke?”

Preckwinkle: “I think it’s you, Gery.”

Chico: “Ed Burke said that I’m the most qualified candidate in this race to be mayor of Chicago. A lot of people have said that. That’s not an endorsement.”

WLS’ Bill Cameron is the one who asked Burke who he likes for mayor and he said this.

“There’s probably no one more qualified than (Chico) is.”

So Chico’s technically right, but it may be a distinction without a difference. ​
