GOP dumps on Pritzker inaugural address

By Bill Cameron, WLS-AM News

(CHICAGO) Lots of excitement among Democrats today celebrating the inauguration of JB Pritzker as the state’s new governor, but Illinois Republican chairman Tim Schneider is saying  there are bad days ahead.

Tim Schneider listened to Pritzker’s inaugural address and came away with this assessment.

“I think what we’re gonna see is what we’ve seen in the past: borrow, tax, spend and repeat.”

And here’s what he said is next for Bruce and Diana Rauner.

“They said they are were going to take some time off and head for New Zealand for a while.”

As for rebuilding the party, Chairman Schneider says he’s surveying the party faithful but believes they need to give Trump “full support.”

“I think we’re gonna have to defend some rhetoric along the way, but what I think he’s doing to make lives better for the people of Illinois and our nation is admirable.”
