(CHICAGO) Mayor Rahm Emanuel is talking about the police trial developments.

Speaking at the city’s Dr. King birthday breakfast, after the acquittal of the cops charged with a cover-up but before the Van Dyne sentencing, Rahm tried to assure the city that his consent decree will calm any controversy.

“Our work is not done. It is just beginning. It won’t be a straight line. There will be fits and starts, but with federal oversight, this time since there is no off ramp to the road to reform, we will embark on somthing that will stand the test of time. That everybody can be pround of the Chicago Police Department

The mayor famously said in 2015 there is a code of silence in the police department.
