(CHICAGO) In the race for mayor, Bill Daley was vigorously defending the Daley name during a forum at the Sun Times this morning.

Daley’s rising popularity and money are making him a target for some of the other candidates.

They say voters don’t want another Daley because of all the problems Mayor Rich Daley supposedly caused.

At the Sun Times forum, Bill Daley went up an octave.

“Rich Daley got elected six times by people in this city. Ok? And they voted for him. Now you can insult them and think they were all idiots for voting for him, and that’s basically what you’re hearing here. I’m sick and tired of people talking about the people of this city who voted for somebody six times as tho they’re all idiots for doin’ that!”

Daley said he wouldn’t be the third Mayor Daley, but the first Bill Daley.
