A suspected burglar who broke into a Marion, Indiana home this week ended up getting crushed to death by a 900-pound safe.
The victim, George Hollingsworth, says he returned home on Tuesday to find his garage door smashed in. As he began to clean up the mess, he found the body of a man pinned underneath his 900-pound antique floor safe, which had toppled on top of him. The man was later identified as 28-year-old Jeremiah Disney.
Hollingsworth called it a ‘horrible way to die’ and says he would rather have seen the man steal something and escape than die the way he did. Even worse, the safe was completely empty.
