Small Plane Crashes On Long Island Front Lawn

A Long Island family got quite the surprise on Sunday night as a small plane crashed into their front yard. Fortunately, no one was badly hurt.

When police in Valley Stream arrived on the scene, they found the three passengers sitting on the curb, with only a sprained finger between them.

While the plane took down some wires, knocking out power to about a dozen homes, there was no structural damage.

The FAA is investigating the 10:19 pm incident, which was caused after the low on fuel plane botched its landing at both Republic Airport in Farmingdale and JFK.
