A man attempted to bring gas cans and lighter fluid into St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York and ended up getting arrested Wednesday.

The suspected claimed he “wanted to cut through the church to get to Madison Avenue and he the gas cans because his car ran out of gas”. This turned out to be false.

There was high security at the cathedral with it being the “holiest week of the year for Catholics”.

This arrest has been made on the heels of the Notre Dame Cathedral going up in flames just days ago for an unknown reason.

There was also a fire at St. John the Divine Cathedral in Manhattan on Palm Sunday.
