If Tariffs Against Mexico Go Through, These Foods Will Cost More

Some foods could become a lot more expensive if the White House goes through with imposing tariffs on goods imported from Mexico.

According to HuffPost, prepare to shell out more for vegetables and fruits. Nearly 80 percent of avocados come from south of the border, as well as 74 percent of onions and 1 out of every 2 tomatoes.

Like cerveza? The threatened 5% tariff would be passed down to consumers in the United States. Same goes for tequila.

Even snacks aren\’t immune. Mondelez International in Monterrey manufactures Oreos, Chips Ahoy and Ritz Crackers. If the worst case scenario of a 25% tariff were tacked on, a $2.99 package could jump to $4, says the report.
