Idaho High School Drops The Name ‘Redskins’

An Idaho high school has announced that it will no longer use the name ‘Redskins’, as it has done for over 90 years.

The Teton High School board made the call despite protests from the community, calling it a “moral and ethical decision”.

The school superintendent said it will cost about $30,000 to replace all uniforms and signs with the old mascot, and promised that taxpayer money would not be used for the change. A ‘community committee’ will work to determine the new mascot.
