AirAsia Opens Plane Food Restaurant

Generally, passengers don’t come off a flight raving about the food, but one airline is banking that they can get diners to eat it on the ground.

AirAsia has opened a restaurant in Kuala Lumpur that serves the same pre-packaged meals travelers get when they fly the friendly skies.

“We have seen a significant appetite for our in-flight menu offerings beyond our flights across the region, and this is our answer to that demand,” says their General Manager, noting in a press release that they plan to open 100 restaurants worldwide in the next five years.

Perhaps the prices will bring people in. Dishes run about $3 US, says CNN .
