A Montana man is facing assault charges after allegedly injuring a 13-year-old boy for not removing his hat during the national anthem.
Witnesses at the Mineral County Fair and Rodeo say 39-year-old Charles Brockway slammed the boy to the ground, fracturing his skull. He then told bystanders the victim was “disrespecting the national anthem”.
Authorities say Brockway was already on probation for a previous charge of assault with a deadly weapon. The boy was flown to a hospital and has since been released.
